phpXperts is the biggest PHP group from Bangladesh. It was started by Hasin Hayder as a yahoo group and is a great place for newbies to ask question and to solve their problems. Now the most part of the activity of this group is based on the facebook group for phpXperts .

The annual seminar of this group was arranged this year for the 5th time. Here is the official page of the seminar 2011. You can find the topic list and along with their speakers there.

The seminar was a blast. Too many great speakers with great topics and huge number of audience was the life of the seminar. All the speakers and the listeners enjoyed this event very much.

There is a special portion of the seminar this year and it’s called 6 minutes of fame. It was a chance for new comer speakers to speak for this first time and I was a part of this great opportunity to speak in front of the audience. So I had only 6 minutes to talk on something and I choose a topic from my favorite WordPress. The topic title was “WordPress themes & Plugins development – Best Practices”. As the time was very short, I wanted to cover some of the important features that a WordPress developer should take care of. Here is the slide -

I use Siemens CX70 mobile phone since 2005 and still I’m using it and it’s my only phone. Anyway, it’s not funny

My phone’s display is going to die soon, the process already started . I love this phone for it’s customisable features. If somehow it dies or it’s stolen then I’m so dead. My 5/6 years all contact will be gone. So the best process is to sync it somewhere, so all the contacts remains and I can use those contacts to other phone. I started to dig today about this issue.

My OS is ubuntu and I was not able to pull those contacts from mobile to my laptop. I can’t send the contact’s via bluetooth, because it has only infra-red. So I was looking for some sync service and I found one. After 1 hour of effort I was able to sync my contacts with the memotoo. But after syncing my contacts it says I reached the limit and I need an account upgrade

May be there are some other cool services to sync free and I don’t know about them. If you know some, please let me know. But I decided to setup a service on my server only for me and I found mooha. After looking into it, I found very easy to set it up.

The process is very easy, download the script from google code. There is sql file for database table creation. Create a database on your server and import the sql file. Now give the database credentials on the config.php file and you are done

The default username and password is mooha. You can change it and/or add as many user as you want.

It’s time to setup my phone’s remote synchronisation tool. I gave my mooha server address like http://example.com/mooha/index.php and my username/password and contact path it synced successfully

Some month ago I was trying to install Hackintosh on my Dell Inspiron 1545. That was iDeneb DVD. I managed to install it in my laptop. But after installing from that DVD, I couldn’t boot into Mac. I was getting “boot error” message. In that time I was using windows 7 and didn’t know how to fix this issue. So my hackintosh exploration stopped.

Some days ago I managed another ISO of iATKOS v7 and burned it for testing for the second time. I found deviato’s tutorial from here and again installed it. While booting from the DVD I was getting some problems like kernel panic, it’s being hanged with some wired message. But again and again I was trying and finally able to see the installation window. Then I moved forward and opened the disk utility from the installation window. I created a 13GB partition for installing mac and formatted the drive in NTFS format before from GParted from my ubuntu 10.04 installation.

From the Mac disk utility I formatted my 13GB NTFS formatted drive in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) file system. Then I moved forward and installed the Mac OS X leopard successfully. After rebooting I got the same “boot error” message like my previous installation. Again I stopped here, I saw in some blogs to install patched grub2. As I don’t use windows in my laptop, I use ubuntu and the version is 10.04 (lucid lynx) and obviously I use grub2. My ubuntu grub was not there because I installed Mac and it removed my grub. So I booted into ubuntu with a flash USB drive (pen drive) and installed grub2 again to boot into my original installed ubuntu. Again rebooted and logged into my installed ubuntu and ran this command (sudo update-grub) to update my grub to see that if it finds the mac partition, it will be great. And I surprised to see that this update found the Mac installation and added an entry to my grub boot loader. I was really amazed at that time.

Both, Braille Board and Bangla TTS was awarded for “Best IT Innovation Award”.

বেশকিছু দিন আগে বাসায় বলেছিলাম, কিন্তু কোন সাড়াশব্দ পাইনি। হঠাৎ করেই গত বৃহঃস্পতিবার বিকেলে(১৯-১১-২০০৯) গ্রিন সিগন্যাল পেয়ে গেলাম। ক্যাম্পাস
ছুটি হয়েছে ঐদিনই। মেসের একবড় ভাইয়ের বাসায় আমাদের কয়েকজনের যাওয়ার কথা ছিল। কিন্তু প্ল্যান ক্যানসেল করে আমার ডেস্কটপ প্যাক করে বাসার উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা দিলাম পরের দিন বিকেলে (শুক্রবার)।
কারণ টিকেট সমস্যা। যাই হোক, বাসায় পোঁছালাম সন্ধ্যায়। আগেই ঢাকার টিকেট করে রাখা হয়েছিল, তাই টাকা নিয়েই সেই রাতেই ঢাকার দিকে রওনা। উদ্দেশ্য
মেলা থেকে ল্যাপটপ কেনার। তবে সেই রাতে একটু বেশিই ঠান্ডা পড়েছিল মনে হয়। শীতের কাপড় নেইনি, ঠান্ডায় ঠকঠক করে কাঁপছিলাম।

ভোরে ঢাকায় পৌঁছে হানিফের কাউন্টারে অপেক্ষা। সকাল হয়ে গেলে ভাইয়ের বাসার উদ্দেশ্য রওনা দিলাম। আগেই মেহেদী ভাইয়ের সাথে কথা হয়েছিল যে ১২ টায় উনি চীন-মৈত্রী (প্রাক্তন)
এ এসে পৌঁছাবেন। সময়মত আমি পৌছালাম, আরো দুই বন্ধুকে বলেছি আসতে। তারপর তাদের জন্যে অপেক্ষা। ওরা আসলে ভেতরে ঢুকে দেখতে লাগলাম। কিছুক্ষণ পরেই
মেহেদী ভাই চলে আসলেন। দেখছি তো দেখছিই। অনেক দেখাদেখি আর সিদ্ধান্তের পর Dell Inspiron 1545 কেই ফাইনাল করা হল।

মজা করে শুনুন বাংলাদেশী রেডিও

I have a nokia phone, it’s model is 3110 classic and i use it as a modem to connect with internet. So i don’t use this phone as any call purpose, only internet.

But most problem with this handset is the restarting problem. It don’t get restarted if you don’t use any memory card. But if you use any, in my case i can’t turn on my phone most of the time while the memory card remain inserted. It turns on and become switched of in a looping process.

I was so mad with this because i can’t use any memory card and can’t listen any songs and also can’t take any photo while visiting some place. Once i thought to take the phone to the customer care center, but it takes too many time in the nokia care at Rajshahi (a division of Bangladesh). A simple problem took 16 days to solve that i saw to happen to some of my friends. So it was a great problem for me because i use the set as a modem.

Now come to the point. To solve the problem you need to update your phone firmwire and i was not sure that i can update it with my usb data cable.

My phone’s firmwire version was 6.01 or something but it was 6 LOL. After updating the firmwire the version becomes 7.21 To download the updater software visit the nokia web site.
It’s size is arround 23 MB, so download it. You can also check is there any update for your phone or not? Follow the link here.

Now install the updater and follow the instructions. It’s simple. In my case, the after installing the updater software again it downloaded a package of about 22 MB.
I am not sure that it was downloaded only in my case. So what, follow the process. It’s really simple. After installing the updates my mobile is running without any problem.

Today i noticed the new feature of Gmail and that is Take a break.
When i activate it, it shows the message “Break Time: Take a walk, get some real work done, or have a snack. We’ll be back in 40 minutes!”
Thats really funny and also very usefull feature for us, who needs to sit in front of computer over many hours long with no break.
This feature encourage us to take some rest while working. Thats really great . So Took the break and completed my breakfast at
the first time. lolz

From many days i am out of net connection. So i could not make any blog post of mine. Why i was out of internet?

It’s my first final exam in university. Everyone was saying to be attentive in the first year. Their cause was that, if any one get a good result in the first year, it becomes easy to make better in the next years. As i didn’t read/study a lot, i became anxious. I had the both trouble that, neither i can’t concentrate in my study, nor i can do other works. At the mean time, our exam date was announced. So, i cut off the net connection for sake of study. But, still i could not concentrate on my study and for some reasons our exam date was postponed and exam date was settled in a new date.

So, the exam time and the pre-exam time took 3 months to complete. During these day i missed the net connection very much. But what was the facility? Still i could not concentrate on my study. I enjoyed a lot of English movie during these time. Even i watched 5 movies in a day!

I was eagerly expecting to end of exam as soon as quickly. I never waited for end of exam like these. But now, at last my exam is over. May be the exam was not good. But the summary is, i am out of exam now. I am free….

For a few days, i was running my blog in a free host. Obviously the platform was wordpress. Because, in this time i’ve not the ability to buy a domain. So now i am dependent to the free hosting.

As wordpress is the best blogging platform, so i was running it on http://tareq.byethost33.com. But, now i think that it is not safe to run my blog over their. Because this is a free hosting and as a free hosting their responsibility should not be trusted by me. It’s not impossible that, one day i did not find my account to that hosting company.

I was not interested to run my blog at wordpress.com. Because, there is no facility to customize and use my favorite plugin at wordpress.com. I am bound to use their predefined templates. It’s very hard to come.

One more thing is that, i didn’t get my own nick here.  Anyone already have registerd before me. So i am registered as “Tareqs” instead of “Tareq”.  Disgusting…
